Step Out.

Well, it has been three months to the day since I journeyed back from Africa.
I am a bit of a late processor, which is why it has taken me this long to post anything of the sort.
So I'll start with one of the fondest moments.
You want to know how I even met these kids? I stepped outside the gate, pure and simple.
Boredom and a bit of curiosity got the best of me, and I went with it. I peeked around that blue piece of metal, and saw these little ones walking home from school. "Faranji" (white person) was being whispered all around, and before long, a crowd had formed. Jason and Kata, my teammates, turned on some music and that was it.
I didn't know these kids and they certainly didn't know me, yet we bonded in that moment of spontaneity.
It still amazes me that a group of young ones danced, posed, and laughed with me and my camera. Something to learn from I think.

Step out, people.
Try something new. Go somewhere you've never been, even if its just a different route home.
Meet people, learn their names.
Don't be afraid to be in a photo, or take one.
You never know what could happen next.
